"New style" to be adopted at PSG as they appoint new coach

After bidding farewell to Christophe Galtier who had just one season stint at Paris Saint-Germaine, the French giants have unveiled former Barcelona and Spain national team coach Luis Enrique to spear head the team affairs for two years.

The club's chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi said;  “It will be a new way of playing, a new style.

“We have one of the best coaches in the world. Not just because of what he has done but because of the way he plays football. We want this club to play the best attacking style of football in the world.”

"I am committed to putting a winning team together and I have no doubt that I will be able to do that and give PSG fans something they will like." Luis Enrique had said during his unveiling on wednesday.

Luis Enrique had coached Roma, Celta vigo, and Barcelona whom he led to a treble in 2015 and a LaLiga title in 2016.

He left Barca and after a year took over as Spain head coach leading the team to finish as runners up in the 2021-22 UEFA nations league.

He was also in charge of Spain at the 2022 world cup where they suffered a heavy round-of-16 defeat to Morroco.

Enrique arrives at PSG at a time when the club is having some rough patches with the exit of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos this summer, with speculations about Kylian Mbappe leaving next year.
