Steven Gerrard Makes Shocking U-turn To Coach Saudi Arabia Club Side

 


Barely less than a month after rejecting an offer to coach Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ettifaq, Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was on Monday announced as the new head coach of the Dammam-based club.

The 43-year old former Aston Villa Manager who led Rangers to their first Scottish title in 10 years back in 2021 had previously been linked with an offer to coach relegated Premier league sides Leicester city and Leeds United but missed out on the offers.

Al Etiffaq has been without a permanent coach since February after the departure of  their former manager French Coach Patrice Carteron. 




The former England captain is the latest big name from Europe to join the Saudi Pro League including Christiano Ronaldo, Kareem Benzema, Ngolo Kante.
