Why Mason Mount might be wrong for Manchester United

Mason Mount had on Tuesday bade an emotional farewell to Chelsea fans as he closed a £55 million deal with premier league rivals Manchester United in a 5-year contract.

The 24-year old joined Chelsea famed football academy at the age of six and in the spate of 18 years had risen up the ranks to become one of the fans favorite as he was a key player in the club's 2021 Champions league victory.

Mason Mount made 195 appearances and scored 33 goals. He was named the club's academy player of the year in 2017 and got Team player of the year award in 2021 and 2022.

He was quoted on his Instagram handle saying;

"Given the speculation over the last six months this may not come as a surprise to you, but it doesn't make it any easier to tell that I've made the decision to leave Chelsea," he said in a video message posted on Instagram. "I know some of you won't be happy with my decision, but it is what's right for me at this moment in my career."

WHY MASON MOUNT MIGHT BE WRONG FOR MANCHESTER UNITED

Obviously for certain reasons Mason Mount is not as good as Bruno Fernandez, although he is more mobile than Eriksen. Playing Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandez in the team would leave Casemiro as a holding midfielder giving him a lot of work to do.
